About the artist:
Noha Mokhtar (she/her) is a Swiss-Egyptian artist, anthropologist, and editor. Her research explores the relationship between space, kinship, and materiality. She works across photography, video, installation, and writing. In her practice, she seeks a critical engagement with concepts of culture, history, family, and power by looking at the mechanisms of reproduction of places, objects, and bodies. Often, her projects oscillate between fiction and non-fiction. Currently a doctoral candidate in Social Anthropology and Critical Media Practice at Harvard University, Noha is also the co-founder of the transdisciplinary publishing platform Edition Hors-Sujet.
