Isabel Motz lives and works in Stuttgart and currently in Freiburg.
Isabel Motz (she/her) is a graphic designer and artistic researcher. During her studies at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, she developed her practice, in which she combines graphic design and media art with a special interest in the history of specific places. In her projects, Motz investigates local events and phenomena, placing them in a global context and questioning existing structures and narratives. By recombining materials that she researches on site or in archives - including documents, photographs, videos, sound recordings and texts - she creates new perspectives and interweavings.
The artist is currently a scholarship holder of the State Graduate Programme of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. She will spend May and June 2025 in Freiburg as part of the E-WERK's KABUFF residency.
